Quotable #12

Life with two toddlers is the best, hardest, most fun season of life!

Peter's quotes are up first:

"Mommy can you come wipe me? Oh. Wait!! Not yet. There's more!! ...
Ok, now come please. Wait!! ...
(under his breath) Well, that was tricky."

"Whoa. Didn't see that coming!" (when a bug flew at his face and he hit himself trying to swat it)

Me: Take this to your room please.
P: "I can't."
Why?
"Because Sky knows where my room is and that frightens me."

Some favorite current phrases:

Outside on (inside out)
Yes way who-say (In response to No way José)
Giddy-uppers (Gazelles)
It's my best! (It's my favorite)

He opened cocoa powder as we were making Kory's birthday cake. "Mmm. It smells so...brown."

"Ouch!"
What happened?
"I was trying to punch Luke's teeth and he hurt me."

Peter's baby name ideas include: Dude baby, Choncho, Skyscraper Baby, Peter, Pumpkin Head, Carving, Baby Muffin Head, Eggo, Baby Lukey but not the one we already have

Luke pulled up my shirt and was talking about the baby. I asked him if he could kiss the baby and he leaned down and gave my belly a very wet kiss. When he looked up at me, he had a very mischievous smile on his face and said, "Yick!" (He immediately stuck his tongue out and went for another lick.)

He had just gotten in trouble for hitting.
"Sowwy Mommy."
Me: For?
"Four, five six!"
Me: Luke.
"I counting! Good job Yukey!"

Luke doesn't tolerate nonsense/silliness. :)
Das si-yee (That's silly)
I don't fink so!

He LOVES to grab your face and whisper a secret to you.
It's always one of two things:

 "Yove you"
"Dinos ah cool"

He is full of one-word questions these days, usually with a tilted head as seen above.
"Noise?"
"Happened?"
"Making?"
"Doing?"

2018 Year in Review

January
We returned home from Christmas in TX and had lots of new toys to play with.

Luke was teething for several weeks. Such a rough time!

Oregon rain meant we spent a lot of time at the indoor McD's playground.

February
The boys and I flew to NM to spend a week with my family...

...before going to my 10 year LCU Reunion.

I hadn't been back in 5 years and it was SO great to see college friends!

March
Kory was ordained as a pastor by our church and
our Community Group all came to support him.

Luke got his 1st haircut.

Peter moved to a big boy bed (and continued sleeping like a champ!)

I miscarried a baby in the early 1st trimester.

April
We celebrated Easter in style...

and hosted several friends for lunch and an egg hunt.

We spent a long weekend in Bend hiking
and shopping and relaxing in the hot tub.

Pop and Granna came for a quick weekend visit.

May
We celebrated Mother's Day in the park with friends.

Grandma came for a visit!

Kory and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary.

June
We went camping at Whistler's Bend with the Harmons.

To prepare for a new playset, we began cutting down trees
and clearing out blackberry bushes in the back yard.

We spent a LOT of time at the splash pad and swimming pool.

July
An early ultrasound confirmed I was pregnant and baby was thriving.

August
Peter grew a LOT of zucchini...some bigger than others. :)

Pop and Granna came to watch the boys...

...so we could take a kid-free trip to San Francisco!

Right after we got home, Aunt Johnette came to see us.

September
I continued watching Zuna and Tzeitel every Tuesday so we
took a 1st Day of School picture just for fun. (Ages 1, 2, 3, and 4)

We had a lot of backyard fires to burn branches and brush
from the trees Kory cut down. (Picture by Peter)

Peter and I started Playing Preschool at home.

Peter started attending Awana every Wednesday.

October
The Harmon girls spent a week with us while their parents went to NY.

Peter was SO proud of his pumpkin he grew himself!

Baby kept growing and Luke got more obsessed with his pacifier. :)

We spent as much time outside as possible. Fall in Oregon is perfection.

A fireman and his fire pup, Marshall, ate a LOT of Halloween candy.

November
Peter & Luke celebrated their 4th and 2nd birthdays with a dinosaur party.

After 5 days in quarantine from Hand Foot & Mouth, we had to get out of the house and went for a drive to the Safari and had a picnic in an empty parking lot.

Peter and Luke added to their grateful turkeys each day.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with our friends, John & Meredith.

We began the Christmas season by cutting down our own real tree.

December
Kevin and Lauren came to the Oregon for a few days.

Papaw and Grandma made an early Christmas visit.

A crazy windstorm helped clear out even more trees in the back yard, though it took down some fence and a shed and a window in the process.

Pop and Granna and Uncle Andy joined us for Christmas at our house.

We got a minivan in preparation of baby #3 arriving early next year!
