Saturday morning, Sky and I hung out on the couch while Kory was at a church meeting. Sky napped and I watched Prison Break.
Kory met a former youth group kid for lunch and then we went for a bike ride. Kory showed me this road pretty close to where we live that is right beside the river. It was a beautiful ride!
Sky was so excited to see us when we got home from our ride that he pretty much jumped up into Kory's arms. It was really funny!
Kory taught me to play frisbee golf after our bike ride. He LOVES to play and has set up a mini course in the back yard, so I joined him for the first time. I'm pretty bad but it was really fun. As I type this, there are about 12 high school boys outside playing with Kory and from the sounds they're making, I think they must be hitting each other more than the buckets.
Next, we removed the two smallest trees from our yard. As you can see in my pictures, there are a bajillion trees in the backyard. We hope to eventually remove quite a few more so there is more open space to play and enjoy the grass.
Please ignore the ridiculous look on my face. I tried to ninja chop the tree and ended up breaking it and that somehow led to me making this face. I can't explain really...but the point is that you see this tree that is no longer in the ground.
This one was a little bigger so we had to pull it out of the ground and do a little digging to get all the roots.
We now have a little bit of open space in the yard without a tree! Sky is a big helper, as you can see.
Finally, Kory cut down some branches on a tree that completely blocked our view from the deck. Here is a progression of photos to show you how it all went down.
That night we made some yummy enchiladas and guacamole (Happy Cinco de Mayo!) and watched Lonesome Dove on Netflix. We have one episode left and I hope we can watch it tonight when all these high school boys leave our home. Next Saturday, we'll be in Seattle with our college friends, Ross and Allison and we'll get to meet their baby, Naomi, for the first time. I can't wait!
